Trumpet of Truth Spiritual Warfare the Reality of Spirits
Gen. George Patton once said that "war is hell", and to those engaged in the warfare, no doubt that it is. In the christian race, we can echo Gen. Patton's sentiments and apply it to the spiritual warfare. Perhaps rephrasing the quote to read; "war is against hell" would be more aptly fitting. Nonetheless, we are under a non-stop, all out offensive from Satan and his demonic entourage. It behooves us to take the offense against the forces of hell. We must know our enemy. The devil and his angels only mission is to destroy the saints of God. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" (1 Peter 5:8) Satan will use any and all avenues at his disposal to overcome the saints of God. Our faith and belief is under attack every day. Often times, he will gain an advantage by using drunken christians to actually carry out the attacks for him, thus seeking to destroy the body of believers from "within". One such tactic is to infiltrate into the body those under the influence and control of mocking, scoffing, scorning spirits. The apostle Peter did warn us that we are to "know this first" in the last days: "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2 Peter 3:3-4) A scorner may cast away his confidence in the coming of Jesus Christ because his hope has been compromised, drawn back by his own lusts. He becomes lifted up in himself, arrogant. Bitterness and hatred become confidants. His love begins to wax cold. . " But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you that there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit." (Jude 17-19) A scorner is governed more from the pleasures of bodily senses, than from the inward direction of the Holy Spirit. He will not be told that he has fallen into error, rather than receiving correction as an act of love. "A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise." (Proverbs 15:12) Reproof and rebuke are God's way of chastening, correcting, discipling and instucting His children. A son will receive the chastisement from the Lord, but the scorner will not take heed to instruction. He chooses to shut out the correction. "A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke." (Proverbs 13:1) Wisdom and discernment must be exercised when dealing with a scornful spirit. A person under the control of a scorning spirit is lifted up, inflated in his mind and may rather likely resent a brother or sister coming to him or her in the love of correction, and place may be given to a spirit of hatred. "Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man and he will love thee." (Proverbs 9:8) He believes he knows what is best for him. He won't receive wise counsel from another. He is puffed up in his own mind.He boasts in himself, becomes inflated. "A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth." (Proverbs 14:6) Scorning and mocking spirits recieve much of their strength aided by the spirits of doubt and unbelief . They flourish in environments where there is an atmosphere of self-justification; a "see, I told you so, you should have listened to me" attitude. They will stand boldly, lifted up with pride defending their position to ease their own conscience. Note the dispostion upon the people at the crucifiction of our Lord Jesus Christ. "And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, thou that destoyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and the elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said I am the Son of God." (Matthew 27:39-43) Situations where debate, confusion , unrighteous judgement and shame are working, are often indications that a spirit of scorn is present. Focusing deliverance on the spirit of scorn can break the ground of contention, strife, and reproach, also causing them to be cast out. "Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease." (Proverbs 22:10) We, the saints of the most High God, must never lose sight of the truth that the victory has been already won in Jesus Christ, in his name, and by his blood. God cannot lie! We can do all things through Christ Jesus. The Lord Jesus Christ the captain of our salvation, has given us the bible, our instruction book, our "field manual" to defeat the forces of hell. Recalling to mind the words of the prophet Isaiah: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17) When binding or casting out the spirit of the scorner, loose the spirit of love against it. (Gal. 5:22) And of course, always listen to the Holy Spirit, as he will lead you and guide you into all truth. Praise God! The King is coming!!!!!!!!!! Bro.
